Laurie R. King's Highly Praised Mystery Novel, Locked Rooms.
Join residents of Danville and San Ramon for a six-week, book-sharing event to read one book together from September 17th through October 29th. Pick up a free copy of Laurie R. King’s, Locked Rooms: A Mary Russell Novel at the Danville, San Ramon or Dougherty Station Libraries or at participating local businesses to read, discuss and then pass on to friends, family, co-workers or neighbors. Discover this riveting and intelligent story featuring an engaging cast of characters including Mary Russell, her husband Sherlock Holmes and sleuthing partner Dashiell Hammett. How to write an “A” paper: Discovering Library Databases

Writing a great class paper begins with finding the best information. Learn how to walk away with an “A” using Library databases as your information source. Library databases – available 24/7 – provide academic sources with the convenience of online access. Best of all they are easy to use and can save you loads of time. This is a must do class for teens of all ages including community college students. Two sessions offered this fall. No sign-up required.
LOL @ the library: Teen Read Week 2007

Teens are reading more and more all the time. If you are a teen who loves books and reading, take time to celebrate Teen Read Week 2007. Drop by the Library to tell us about a favorite read. Pose for a picture with a great book or videotape a book review. Your picture or review could be featured on the library’s website or MySpace (signed release form required). We’ll be taking pictures all week and videotaping Sunday, October 14 from 2 to 5 at San Ramon Library and Thursday, October 19 from 3 to 6 at Dougherty Station Library.

DSL Computer Lab
The computer lab at DSL will be homework central after school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The lab will be staffed with a reference professional that can help students connect with Library resources including Live Homework Help. The lab will be a quiet homework only space during this time. This is NOT a tutoring service.

Infant Massage

Parents and caregivers are invited to come learn techniques as well as the many benefits of infant massage. Reading infant cues, preparing the home environment for massage, and basic strokes will be covered and much more. Class includes massage oil and instruction booklet. Registration is required. Due to space limitations parents and caregivers may register for only one class.
Brotherly Jazz Documentary Viewing and Q&A by Producer Danny Scher

Documentary Brotherly Jazz gives insight into the life of legendary Philadelphia’s Heath Brothers, bassist Percy, saxophonist/composer/arranger Jimmy and drummer Albert “Tootie”. Notably this was a 2004 concert in California, one of the last times the Health Brothers would perform together.
